It’s been three months since the MPS Systems Asia office opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I’ve had the pleasure to be a part of it! I’m grateful for the opportunity to work for a dynamic company such as MPS and in the same beautiful country where I was born. And yes, Tim Klappe was right…the food here IS very amazing and diverse!
I joined MPS in June 2017 as an Area Sales Manager with over 15 years experience in digital and flexo label printing, and most recently as an MPS agent. So, my knowledge of MPS, the technology, and Southeast Asia are advantages in my role.
Recently, I was invited to speak about flexo printing at Dupont’s flexographic seminar to a group of nearly 60 participants in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Flexo at the forefront in an evolving market
With the Vietnam print market being primarily gravure and offset, flexo is now quickly gaining in popularity and being embraced by many printers with its proven advancements in print quality.
The DuPont seminar was an excellent platform to highlight the advantages of flexo. Educational presentations focused on DuPont’s latest flexographic plate and plate processing technology that reduces plate processing time with environmental friendly solvents.

Hybrid Software highlighted its efficiencies in prepress, colour management, and colour strategy in label and packaging applications.
On behalf of MPS, I spoke about how our flexo presses deliver superior print quality, with innovations such as the MPS Crisp.Dot Technology that features no gear connection between the impression cylinder and print cylinder resulting in minimal dot gain.
The seminar generated some lively dialogue about flexo printing, and it was clear the audience was very interested in the technology and left with a much better understanding of how it can improve the printing process.

You may have heard, we’re growing (already!) at MPS Systems Asia.
Julius Urbano has joined as Regional Service Engineer to provide pre- and post-installation technical service
for MPS presses in the Asia-Pacific region and support local service engineers of our various agents.
We’ve also welcomed Suwannee Tantisrisuk as Area Sales Manager, responsible for South-East Asia with a focus on Thailand and surrounding countries. Suwannee has a wealth of first-hand knowledge and experience from owning a label printing company and operating flexo presses.
Our global representation is also growing with the recent appointment of Chimeng Packaging as the MPS agent in Taiwan. With over 15 years’ experience in the flexo and gravure printing industry, Chimeng Packaging provides high quality printing machines, anilox rolls, consumables, quality inspection equipment and a strong technical team.
We’re also busy meeting the industry at events, such as the recent 3P Pakistan with our local agent K-Group, and soon we’ll be in Bangkok, Thailand at the Labels & Packaging Innovation Conference May 2-3.
The impact? With a local office and team to provide service, it’s clear to printers that MPS is serious about the Asian market.
